Commonwealth Disability Discrimination Act, 1992
The Commonwealth Disability Discrimination Act, 1992, S9.2 defines Assistance Animals in Australia. 9.2c states that an assistance animal is an animal or dog:
“trained: to assist a person with a disability to alleviate the effect of the disability; and to meet standards of hygiene and behaviour that are appropriate for an animal in a public place.” Train your own, engage a trainer, or receive a fully trained assistance animal.
